The first cottage style residence of The Retreat, a 42-condo community at Grand Haven Golf Club, is completed and ready for interested buyers to tour.

An arena, a gymnasium, a health center, an aquatic center, indoor tennis and track, four full-sized basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness facility, new locker rooms, an athletic training room, a hospitality suite, a large lobby, concessions stands, and a climbing wall. These are just a few of the new facilities Calvin College students are looking forward to enjoying when the proposed $35 million Spoelhof Fieldhouse is completed in 2008.

At 159,000 square feet, the $30 million David D. Hunting YMCA is one of the largest urban YMCA’s anywhere. Now the facility is the world’s only LEED-certified YMCA.

 The U.S. Green Building Council awarded the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification last week. The Hunting family, who donated $5 million to fundraising efforts in honor of their father David D. Hunting, urged pursuit of the certification.
